Total Shutdown In Eswatini Looming.

Total Shutdown is the kingdom of Eswatini is looming as workers have since decided to meet and decide such a move admist pro-democracy protests.

On Thursday, the Trade Union Congress of Swaziland (TUCOSWA) released a statement announcing that the leadership of the union will meet to consult on a date of a complete shutdown of operations.

“It has become clear that the fundamental rights and freedoms of workers and the entire citizens of this country are being violated with impunity, and that must be stopped”, read the TUCOSWA statement that was signed by Acting Secretary General Mduduzi Mhlanga and his deputy Muzikayise Mhlanga.

“A complete plan of activities on the national shutdown shall be communicated beginning the 21st instant”.

The statement come a day after a stand of between members of the Royal Eswatini Police Service and the Public Sector Associations in Mbabane.

This saw a number of people including nurses and teachers being shot allegedly by the police force.

Meanwhile, Nhlangano and Hlathikhulu Nurses picket on Thursday demanding answers on why their colegues where shot at.
