Japan Donates E26M Worth of Food Aid To Eswatini

The Kingdom of Eswatini today received food aid worth E26 million that was donated by the Japan Government.

According to information gathered from the Eswwatini Government Social Media Pages, the food aid will be distributed to 30 600 vulnerable households countrywide from October 2021 to March 2022.

The food aid was received by the Minister of Economic Panning DR. Thambo Gina during a virtual meeting with Japan’s Ambassador to Eswatini His Excellency Norio Maruyama.

Speaking during the virtual meeting, Minister Thambo said the Eswatini Government is very pleased with the bilateral cooperation and friendship shared between the two countries.

“Once again Japan has proven to be one of our main development partners as they have not only supported our Government during this COVID-19 pandemic but have also supported our poverty reduction & social stability endeavours, contributing over E145 Million in just one financial year,” added the Minister.

Meanwhile, Japan Ambassador Maruyama said he is convinced that the donation will help meet the need for food assistance in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
