FNB Eswatini Challenge returns to Sunshine Tour schedule in 2023

The FNB Eswatini Challenge, a professional golf tournament that is part of the Sunshine Tour, a men’s golf tour based in Southern Africa, will be held from 27th to 29th July 2023 at the Nkonyeni Golf Estate in Eswatini. The tournament has a prize fund of R1 250 000 and is one of the 26 tournaments played on the Sunshine Tour in the 2023 season.

The FNB Eswatini Challenge was first held in 2019 and has been a regular feature on the Sunshine Tour calendar since then. The tournament is co-sanctioned by the Big Easy Tour, a developmental tour for aspiring Sunshine Tour players. The tournament provides an opportunity for the local and regional golfers to showcase their talent and compete with some of the best players in Southern Africa.

The Nkonyeni Golf Estate, located in the scenic Lubombo region of Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, is a world-class golf facility that boasts an 18-hole championship course designed by Phil Jacobs. The course offers a challenging and enjoyable golfing experience for players of all levels, with its lush fairways, water hazards, bunkers, and undulating greens.

The FNB Eswatini Challenge is one of the four tournaments hosted by Eswatini on the Sunshine Tour in 2023, along with the Royal Swazi Open, the Lombard Insurance Classic, and the Investec Royal Swazi Challenge. The tournaments contribute to the development of golf and tourism in Eswatini and promote the country as a premier golf destination in Africa.

The FNB Eswatini Challenge is sponsored by FNB Eswatini, one of the leading banks in the country that offers a range of banking products and services to individuals, businesses, and corporates. FNB Eswatini is committed to supporting golf and other sports in Eswatini and giving back to the community through its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
