In a major step toward fostering development and boosting the economy, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, officially handed over the E4 billion Manzini Arch project to African Alliance. The groundbreaking initiative is set to introduce a variety of new amenities in Manzini City, including the city’s first KFC drive-thru, a state-of-the-art hotel, and an impressive facility named “The Jewel,” which will house essential government services.
During the handover ceremony, Minister Khumalo emphasized the government’s dedication to growth and job creation. “I am pleased to announce that preliminary groundwork for the project will commence shortly, with more extensive construction set to begin in February 2025. This project will initially engage 1,200 employees, providing much-needed job opportunities.”
He went on to outline the project’s long-term impact on employment and local livelihoods. “As the project progresses and expands, we anticipate creating even more employment opportunities, supporting our goal of reducing unemployment and enhancing the livelihoods of our citizens.”
The Manzini Arch project is slated to be completed in phases, with the first phase expected to be delivered within 24 months. Minister Khumalo assured that the highest standards of quality and efficiency will be maintained. “Together, we will create a landmark that not only meets the needs of our present but also paves the way for future generations.”
The development of the Manzini Arch reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the city’s infrastructure, economy, and public services, making Manzini a key hub for Eswatini’s future growth.
