After two years of hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MTN Bushfire, Africa’s celebrated music and arts festival, is set to return in 2023 for its 16th edition. The festival will take place at House On Fire, in the scenic Malkerns valley, from 26th-28th May, 2023.
MTN Bushfire is a family-friendly, eclectic celebration of some of the finest music in Africa and beyond. The festival also features various zones and stages that showcase arts, culture, food and social causes. The festival’s theme is “Bring Your Fire”, which encourages the proactive contribution of the individual to positive change.
The festival has announced that tickets are now on sale online, with a limited number of discounted Early Bird tickets available for those who get there first. Festivalgoers can also purchase camping and glamping tickets to enjoy the full festival experience.
The festival has also opened applications for traders who wish to sell their products or services at the festival’s Marketplace, Global Food Village or KidZone. The deadline for applications is 31st December, 2022.
The festival’s line-up and programme will be announced in due course, but fans can expect a diverse and exciting mix of local, regional and international artists across various genres and styles.
MTN Bushfire has been named “Top African festival” by the BBC and hailed by CNN as one of the “7 African music festivals you really have to see”. The festival is also known for its social mandate to enact positive change, supporting various causes such as environmental sustainability, education and social inclusion.
