EEC Suspends Application For Quotation and New Service Connection.

The Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) has announced a temporal suspension of application for quotation and new service connection due to the severe impact of the coronavirus and strengthened measures of the partial lockdown amidst the second wave.

In a statement that was released on Wednesday, the company announced that it will not be able to process any applications for quotations and service connections in all service centres until the situation normalizes.

However, the company promised to continue effecting connections for customers with pending applications for electricity supply even during the partial lockdown. The company also reiterated its mandate of providing electricity even during challenging times.

“The second wave of the pandemic has severely constrained our resources, especially on employees who have also not been spared from symptoms of the COVID-19. As an essential service, we remain committed to our mandate to provide electricity supply even during challenging times”, read the statement.

The customers also pleaded with its customers to use electronic platforms like MTN MoMo to access the company’s services in order to minimize the need of going to service centres or depots.
