MTN Premier League of Eswatini gate collections might increase this season

Emaswati might have to folk out a little bit more than what they are used to pay when they want to watch MTN Premier League games. Over the past years, Emaswati used to folk out E40 to watch the MTN Premier League of Eswatini games but this might come to an end come this season.

Speaking on the national radio’s Sport show that was hosted by Mosses Tripple M Matsebula today 20 August 2018, Premier League of Eswatini Chief Operation Officer Pat Vilakati expressed that there might be some changes in the gate collections during the 2018/2019 season. Vilakati was replying to Matsebula’s question on weather there will be any changes that Emaswati will see during this season.

Vilakati expressed that there will be many changes especially because the country needs to develop so does the football industry. ‘There are many aspects that we looked at that did not go well last year, or went well but need some improvements and these aspects includes the gate collections,’ expressed Vilakati. He further revealed that they are still in talks the league’s sponsor Eswatini MTN and there might be big changes in this season’s gate collections. He also pleaded with Emaswati to accept those changes pointing out that almost all the PLE teams depend on the gate collection for survival.

During the same interviews, Vilakati further revealed the 14th of September as the kick off date of the MTN Premier League of Eswatini. When asked about the kick off date of the league, Vilakati advised Emaswati to prepare themselves as the committee will on the 14th of September kick off this season’s campaign. He also encouraged the PLE teams to quickly register their players especially those in the development programs as a way of complying with club license. When asked about the 2018/2019 fixture, Vilakati expressed that teams were given the fixtures through their Board of Governors during the annual general meeting and the teams together with the nation in large get the full fixture for the first round that will also include the venues that will host the various games.
